In Kenya, where you live goes a long way in determining whether or not you will be poor.

Globally, overall prosperity is increasing yet disparities between rich and poor are widening across all measures of wellbeing – and Kenya is no exception. In response to this paradox – growth and rising inequality – the East African Institute (EAI) undertook research to bring evidence through data analytics, uncovering the spatial patterns of inequality among Kenya’s 47 counties across a wide range of wellbeing indicators for health, education, income and public infrastructure.
